Panhandle-Plains Student Loan Center (PPSLC) selected PGP® Universal, an award-winning email security product, to ensure that all your private and proprietary information is protected in electronic communications. PGP Universal provides secure communication for all parties involved -- borrowers, schools, lenders, and partners outside the organization.

Secure email from PPSLC is delivered either directly to your desktop or via a secure website. You decide what is best for you.

• To receive secure messages directly, simply download a small, no-user-interface, invisible piece of software called PGP Universal Satellite. Once installed, PGP Universal Satellite automatically encrypts and decrypts, and enforces policy on all email sent to and from PPSLC’s PGP Universal Server. You will continue to use your existing email client, such as Outlook, exactly as before.
• If you do not already have an encryption solution or don’t want to install any software on your desktop, you may use your Web browser to obtain encrypted emails. PGP Universal uses a feature called PGP Universal Web Messenger to send an “in-the-clear” plaintext email notifying you that a secure message is available. If a secure reply is necessary, please choose “reply” from the encrypted email and the response will be sent securely. After you have read the email, please delete it for system maintenance purposes.
